Nyuru Nyuru!! Kakusen-kun 2
Lazy Plot Synopsis: These weird creatures live on people’s skin, but otherwise they just live normal lives.
What I Knew About This Before I Did Research: Pretty much nothing.
What I Think of It After Research: This feels like one of those shows that exists for the sole purpose of reminding people that anime can sometimes be really weird and absurd. I don’t think anyone really cares that this exists if I’m perfectly honest.
Genres: Shoujo, Romance, Comedy
Director: Asaka Morio
Lazy Plot Synopsis: A guy with an ugly face and a body as big as his heart saves a girl’s high school student and they start a relationship.
What I Knew About This Before I Did Research: I’ve read a little of the manga and it’s pretty fucking adorable you shits. So watch this.
What I Think of It After Research: No, I’m serious, watch this shit. It will be amazing and perhaps change your life if you learn the lessons it presents.
Owari no Seraph
Genres: Drama, Shounen
Studio: Wit Studio
Director: Tokudo Daisuke
Lazy Plot Synopsis: After a virus wiped out all adults on Earth, one of the surviving teenagers wants to defeat the vampire overlords. I don’t know either.
What I Knew About This Before I Did Research: There’s a guy with a neon scythe in the promo art that’s going around. I don’t know much else.
What I Think of It After Research: After the designated brief period of research for this show I have come back with the following outlook on its prospects. It will be shit filled with whiny kids and vampires who will make you wonder how they managed to rule the Earth when they execute their plans with such stupidity.
Director: Fujiwara Yoshiyuki
Lazy Plot Synopsis: It’s a future world where androids react weird when they are outside support and for some reason they send them to a high school kid to deal with.
What I Knew About This Before I Did Research: I’d really like to know what they do after they reach a certain age, but there’s not even a bit of source material to go from.
What I Think of It After Research: Seeing as this is Dogakobo and this is the same guy who directed Engaged to the Unidentified and GJ-bu the hook is going to be romantically related. I don’t think it will go over the top in the antics of the androids. Maybe they just act a little differently and it’s really dull. That’s always a potential problem with these. Maybe it could also ask important questions about the human experience. That’s a potential thing too. It will probably end up somewhere in between.
Genres: Music, Cash Grab
Studio: Tatsunoko Productions
Lazy Plot Synopsis: A continuation of the first season, which is a spinoff from the earlier mentioned Pretty Rhythm series.
What I Knew About This Before I Did Research: It’s targeted at kids to get them to play a game that I’m pretty sure is played by guys in their 30s and 40s who have to hunch over a machine that was built for kids under 10.
What I Think of It After Research: It’s an adaptation of an idol farming game without the seriousness of an Idolm@ster or even Love Live! because it’s targeted at kids. The plot of this one is trying to do a really good show at the idol theme park where most of the show’s action takes place. This somehow unlocks some new event which makes sense when playing a game, but not in actual story telling.
